Director's BIO

Xin is a Chinese born animator and filmmaker based in Melbourne. After studying classical Chinese calligraphy, he went on to study painting at Harbin Normal University Art College (China) and moved in Australia to study animation at Griffith Film School.
Xin specialises in the traditional method of paint¬-on-¬glass stop-¬motion animation. Through this technique he explores tranquil and often intimate moments of life through abstract narratives. His art pieces have won various prizes worldwide and have been exhibited in Russia, Japan and Hong Kong.
His work has been involved in films, music videos, commercials and opera. He is also creating his new short film series called ‘The Seasons’ at the stage.
